Casual Key Largo Lighting for Your Living Room
It's no big secret that the type of light that we use in our living and work spaces has an impact on the quality of our lives, but it's amazing how few people really stop to consider the lighting they use in their everyday lives. It's important to find a great balance of function and style. Although it can be difficult, it is possible. For example, the Key Largo floor lamp strikes such a balance with its amazing OttLite bulb, which produces natural, full spectrum light out of a bulb that uses only 25 watts, and the telescoping shaft, which is embellished with beautiful details. The low glare light will make all of your tasks for living and office life easier while enhancing the appeal of your home.

Lighting for Music
For all but a few of the most talented musical savants, eyesight is of critical importance to musicians. Sure, the musical art focuses primarily on hearing and touch, but vision plays an important supporting role as well. The less distracted one is by squinting at the notes, the more likely one is to come off with a stellar performance. To that end, products like the Aventura piano lamp can be a huge benefit. It uses a special “OttLite” bulb that harnesses the visual benefits of natural sunlight in only 13 little watts. Better yet, it's both low glare and low heat, meaning that not only are you squinting less and saving your vision, but you're also not dealing with excess heat. After all, stage lights are quite hot enough!

Reading Lights with Class

It can be hard to find things that are as lovely as they are affordable, especially for homes that demand practicality, versatility and class in their furnishings. The Sanibel table lamp can be a perfect addition to the nicest bedroom set, providing the ultimate reading light in a combination of function and style. The OttLite bulb uses only 25 watts of power (leaving you little reason to feel guilty if you fall asleep with the light on) but the natural, low-glare lighting that it produces makes it an essential feature of the bedroom for those who enjoy tucking themselves in with a good book. The swing arm allows you to aim the light precisely where it is needed, and the achromatic shade focuses the light downward for ease of reading.

Bringing Fine Art Home

When guests and family gather in your home, you want to leave them with the best possible impression. While it's important to pick the right art for your décor, you also want to assure that the pieces you've so carefully chosen are seen. Most people don't bother to use art lighting in their homes, but it can make the difference between art that is noticed and appreciated, and a piece of paper hanging on the wall. The Lisbon art lamp is a wonderful choice in that regard, because the special OttLite bulb provides a full-spectrum, balanced natural light that not only highlights the piece but also bathes it in low-glare, natural light that actually makes the colors more beautiful. It's also lovely on its own merit, in a polished brass finish that will blend in most anywhere.

The Floor Lamp for Versatility
Most of us are forced to spend far too much time indoors, whether by virtue of our employment or our family responsibilities. Science has shown us that this lack of sunlight can have a negative impact on our physical, psychological and emotional well-being. The OttLite technology put to use in the Floor Lamp from The Lite Source helps to ease these burdens by providing a source of natural, full-spectrum lighting wherever you may need it. It not only provides unparalleled visual clarity and definition, but may be particularly important for family members suffering from seasonal depression. The flexible neck and adjustable shade allow you to direct the light wherever you may need it, offering unmatched clarity for reading, crafting or whatever your needs may be.

Beauty in the Bedroom
It's not very often that I feel inspired to wax poetic about stuff, but I cannot get over how impressed I've been with my new lamp set. I decided to replace the junk I purchased in my college days with some quality items, and since lighting makes a big impact for a small investment, my old lamps were the first things to go. I bought the Captiva Bedside Lamp to match the floor lamp I'd purchased a few months before, and I'm astounded yet again by its quality. Though it just sits on my nightstand, the Captiva instantly upped the “class factor” in my bedroom. The OttLite illumination is perfect for my bedtime reading, and has eliminated the eyestrain headaches that I used to get. And since it uses only 13 watts of electricity, I don't feel too guilty if I fall asleep with my book in hand.

Quilting Made Easier
Quilting has been a passion of mine since I was a little girl, when my great-grandmother decided to pass her techniques on to me. I'll never be as good at it as she was, but at least I have some technological benefits that she never had. The headaches that I got from quilting under normal lights were insane--I can't imagine trying to work without electricity! If she were still here today, I'd love to show off the work I can accomplish with my OttLite Task Lamp. The lighting is so natural that I can match the colors on my blocks beautifully, and the low wattage means that I can work into the wee hours without worrying about the money I'd be wasting on another lamp. The adjustable angle on the light itself means that I can direct it anywhere I need.

A Work Light for Basement Dwellers
My home office was the dreariest place in the house. Lodged in the basement--the only place safe from the distractions of family bustle--the thought of heading down there to put in a few hours' work was beyond depressing. Incandescent and florescent bulbs didn't help me much, providing neither the visual clarity nor spirit-lifting I needed in a workstation light.

My wife apparently got tired of hearing me complain about it, because she surprised me one day with the TaskLiteHD from The Lite Source. It uses High Definition Lighting Technology in a compact, swivel-based design that actual <i>fits</i> among the clutter on my desk! Not only can I now see my work in detail that I'd never thought possible out of a desk lamp, I can finally appreciate it, too.

Art Lighting Products Simulate Natural Light
It is a well-known fact that color does not exist without light.  That is why you must have true, full spectrum art lighting to display your paintings.  Just as special furnishings and speakers are created for you to enjoy every nuance of great music, so it is that true natural light provides the same benefit for paintings.  The color in fine art is something that must be appropriately lit to be properly appreciated.  If the lighting on a painting is incorrect, you do not see what the artist intended.
Your favorite paintings come alive with the proper lighting on them, giving you a view of the artist’s true image. From picture (art) lights to lighting for artists’ studios, Ott-Lite’s full spectrum lighting is the final touch in illuminating your paintings.

Consider Natural, Full Spectrum Lighting for Continued Breast Health
Scientific research continues in the quest to find a cure for breast cancer.  Breast Cancer Awareness Month reminds women to look into the discoveries made to help preempt the growth of some types of breast cancer. Consider natural, full spectrum light for your home and office, because medical literature supports raising this subject for awareness as a growing public health issue.

In a research study involving shift workers, the findings were consistent that the hormone melatonin (MLT) was increased with exposure to some kinds of artificial light at night, and theorize that this may be one reason for the higher rates of breast and colorectal cancers in the developed world in night workers.  Though these studies are continuing, it is advised that women pay attention to lights used in the home, and select natural full spectrum lamps for use at night.
